A bit about kin2skin...
I created kin2Skin with the mission of empowering parents and caregivers to calm, connect and communication with their babies through their loving touch and responsive interactions. Parenthood is a great adventure with lots of ups and downs and its a constant learning curve! What I love about baby massage, baby yoga and story massage is that they encompass a toolkit of techniques you can try with your baby to help his/her development and strengthen your bond, especially in the first few years of life of a baby and parenthood when it all can get very overwhelming. There is plenty of research now showing the fascinating brain development that a child goes through in the first 3 years of life, and it is my privilege to impact in this stage as it can have such a long lasting effect in society.
My intention is to teach baby massage, baby yoga and story massage not only to parents, but also to adults who are next to kin of babies who, for whatever reason, do not have their biological parents with them. I want to make services more easily accessible to parents or kin who are finding it more difficult to bond with their babies or who are in a particularly vulnerable situation, such as babies with additional health care needs.
More about me…
With my son Oliver
Hi! I am Sandy, the founder of kin2Skin. I am a very happy and busy wife and mum, sister of three incredible women and member of a greater imperfect but fun and supportive family. I consider myself an adventurer and optimistic. Really enjoy travelling, dancing, cycling, reading and having a laugh with the people I love. Originally from Mexico City, living in England since 2008.
I believe that all babies deserve the best start in life and to achieve that we first have to give parents and caregivers support, love and care. They have the most important job in the world, raising the next generation, this is very challenging and often undervalued role.
I have had the privilege of supporting families with children under five for nearly ten years now, through my work in children's centres in London and my private practice. My passion for early years education led me to qualify as a baby massage, baby yoga, story massage and baby signing teacher. More recently, I became a peadiatric massage therapist and infant massage instructor of babies with additional health care needs. I have run lots of courses for parents and babies in various settings and have thoroughly enjoyed it! Having witnessed all the benefits that baby massage and other techniques involving positive touch and communication through the senses can bring, inspired me to share these practices so that more families get to experience them.
kin2Skin has a strong and established partnership with Blossom & Berry. I am an international trainer of baby massage instructors. You can read about the courses for instructors available in Mexico here. We offer face to face and distant learning options to study, our online platform is fantastic, full of useful resources that lead you to a professional qualification. I also offer training for instructors in London. Working with Gayle Berry, we have run charity projects to support families with babies with additional health care needs and parents in low income rural communities in Mexico.

Why choose kin2Skin courses?
Because I always like going the extra smile!!! Classes are very welcoming. The environment is baby-friendly, meaning that no matter what, baby is in charge of the class! So no stress if baby cries, needs feeding or... needs a nappy change!
You will not only relax, meet other friendly parents/caregivers and learn baby massage and baby yoga. I will fill you in with lots of interesting facts about baby's development and will explain all the reasons why the strokes of the massage or baby yoga postures are beneficial.
The handouts given are easy to understand and have lots of pictures, they are durable as they are laminated. You can also receive support via email or telephone after you complete a course, in case you have more questions about baby massage, baby yoga or story massage.
You will leave the classes feeling empowered, equipped with a skill for life being able to practice more baby massage and baby yoga at home with your baby and practice it again if you have more children.
Evening and weekend classes available, fathers and other close caregivers (e.g. grandparents) are welcome to attend at no extra cost.
Courses in Spanish also available.
Just wanted to share some exciting news with you! I won a Highly Commended Award for the Vision Category at the Mpower National Business awards last June (2018).
MPower recognises and celebrates the achievements of women throughout the UK who are successfully juggling the challenge of starting and growing a business with family life.
I feel so excited and fortunate to be part of this network of amazing women and thank Nicola Huelin for her guidance as her book ‘The Invisible Revolution’ changed my mindset and gave me courage to pursue the dream of turning my passion into a business.

I have been nominated again for the 2019 awards! Will keep you posted on how that goes eeeek.
